My debut fabric collection 'Vintage Camping' for Paint Brush Studio Fabrics has just been released in USA and I am pleased as punch with it. While I'm no stranger to designing fabric, this is my first big break into the wonderful world of commercial fabric manufacturing and I'm so greatful to PBS Fabrics for providing me with this dream opportunity. I say dream because I've been working towards this momentus occaision since 2016, when I was first introduced to the art and life of a fabric designer by Lizzy House during an online series for Creativebug.
The collection was inspired by my cherished childhood camping trips in New Zealand (minus the bears of course) and takes you on an adventure into the great outdoors. Where cute and curious creatures roam charming woodlands and cozy campfires crackle beneath snow capped mountains.
'Vintage Camping' was such a joy to design and was the perfect platform to explore my love for retro aesthetics, nature and nostegia. PBS Fabrics have been the best creative team to work with and look forward to creating more gorgeous fabric collections with them in the future. Did I also mention how totally blown away I've been by all the amazing quilts and creative projects that people have been sharing with my online using the collection? There are some seriously talented folk out there, it's an honour to be able to design the foundations for all their wonderful creations.
